I believe that I have gone through my life so far always questioning what is and what isn't. Always wondering about the why and the why not. The older I get, the more I've come to realize that there are some things that are not meant to be understood or have clear answers. That does not dampen the journey of the attempt. Throughout the years I have embraced what I know and continue on that journey of learning more. To that extent, I find myself wanting to get as much out of this life as I can. Whether it's through books, travels, daily experiences or a click of the camera, I crave the pieces of knowledge that this beautiful life has to offer. I want to take in as much as life allows me to and explore the many things that tug at my heart and make my mind wonder. Here is where I will share these things with you . Enjoy!

“We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, ‘O me! O life!… of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless–of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?’ Answer. That you are here–that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?” – Tom Schulman from “Dead Poets Society”

Writing in general has always been a favorite form of expression. Ever since I was younger, I would write stories or poems to relieve the thoughts and emotions that would swim around in my mind. I’ve always had a dream to publish some of my own poetry, but of course there are always those insecurities holding you back from actually taking that first step. The older I get the more I am realizing that I am the only one in control of what I want to do. It really does not matter what others think, as everyone will always have their own opinions and you can’t expect everyone to always be on board with your plans. I think the fear of not being accepted becomes the boundary that a lot of us do not wish to cross when it comes to following what we love to do. Perhaps this blog may be my first step in putting myself “out there” and stepping over that boundary. Who knows what that will bring in the future, as long as I am doing what I enjoy, I am ready for what’s to come.

“We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe whose riches are differently dispersed. And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again- to slow time down and get taken in, and fall in love once more.” ― Pico Iyer
